In 2018, our board of directors began to review moving to a new way to govern the operation of the Fund – a Steering Committee consisting of officers and community stakeholders and subcommittees.
What is a Steering Committee?
The Steering Committee is comprised of elected officers, sub-community chairpersons and community stakeholders who are charged with creating the framework and action plan for an organization. The steering committee also provides support, guidance and oversight of progress of all committee projects.
What are the responsibilities of a steering committee?
Members of the Steering Committee have the ability to speak on behalf of the organization and are able to make decisions on behalf of the group.
